Erik Kalviainen is the creator and maintainer of Intervals Agent, part of q5m.ai. At q5m, the philosophy is to build AI agents that help people make smarter decisions while keeping humans in the loop. He is a Canadian software engineer and product builder focused on turning complex workflows into tools people actually use.

Erik's background spans both startups and large-scale product teams. He has built and operated startups including ProductWiki and Meya.ai, and also worked at Google. He studied Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo in Canada.

He lives in Waterloo, Canada with his wife, Amanie, and their three kids. As an active cyclist, and Waterloo Cycling Club (WCC)member, he brings a training-first perspective to product decisions across planning, readiness context, and workout structure.
